Competitive sports and fitness have been a part of my life from a very young age and, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and soccer filled my time. In high school I was lucky to find lacrosse which I enjoyed in high school and in college but throughout that time, a traditional gym atmosphere was all I had ever known.

After college I made the decision to join the military. (If you come in for a visit you can guess which branch.) A decade leading my young devils (hint) through PT session after PT session showed me how a shared physical stressor and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable can develop a strong bond between those doing the sharing.

Almost immediately after transitioning from active duty I was introduced to CrossFit and it would be unfair to say that it was anything less than a perfect fit for me. The variation in workouts, the indirect competition with the others in the class, the relationships and community that were developed, and the desire to see others succeed was and continues to be what I am passionate about.

At 32 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer about 6 weeks after my wife and I found out we would become parents. Once I made it through that challenge, I started to pay more attention to my overall fitness, but just couldn’t find a program that worked for me. I tried running – too boring for me to do every day. Cycling – too much of a time investment. Gym membership – solitary and without real challenge. Jiu Jitsu – just didn’t take. I needed to find something that would keep me moving forward; where the workouts were always fresh and challenging and where I could build total body fitness. Most of all, I needed to find something that would keep me healthy.

Enter Crossfit. I started Crossfit in 2011 and immediately felt the hook. The variety of workouts, incorporating weightlifting, gymnastics, running and rowing left me, for the first time, feeling strong. Since starting Crossfit I have accomplished tasks I never thought possible; half marathons, heavy lifts, fitness competitions and an almost daily sense of having accomplished something to be proud of.

As a certified Level 1 Crossfit Trainer, my single goal is to help others of all ages, shapes and sizes come to the same realization that I had – that life is better when you are feeling fit and strong. I believe that everyone is capable of smashing personal goals and records and that the community and camraderie that Crossfit and group fitness classes foster are a critical ingredient to doing just that.

Since I was a child in Indiana, I have always been involved in sports and the outdoors. I played baseball, basketball, football and wrestled, and I continued playing intramural sports with my Fraternity in college. After college I moved to the west coast. I spent 6 years in California, before moving to New York at the end of 2012. With a cross-country move, a new job, and a new home, I let my fitness go. I tried going to the typical “Globo-Gym”, but I wasn’t into it.

In early 2013, I walked in my first CrossFit “Box” after seeing 2012’s CrossFit Games broadcast on ESPN. The workout was horrible, and I loved every minute of it. 100 Thrusters with 3 Burpees EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute). I scaled the weight to just the bar and it took me almost 40 minutes, but there I was, surrounded by people I had never met, cheering me on as if I was on their team and they’d known me for years. That feeling lit a fire inside of me to learn everything I could about “The Sport of Fitness”, CrossFit.

Since 2013, I have taken both my Level 1 and Level 2 Trainer’s courses, as well as visited boxes in places like Las Vegas, NV, Rapid City, SD, Greenville, SC, Evansville, IN (My Hometown), and even Rome, Italy. These experiences have made me the person and coach that I am today. My goal every day is to make our athletes better, whether it’s helping someone through a technique, watching someone smash a goal, or when an athlete hits that first Rx workout, if they leave class just a little bit better, it was a good day.

I am an avid believer in a healthy, active lifestyle devoted to self-improvement. I have always been an athlete, but nothing has challenged me or shown results the way that CrossFit has. I became a CrossFit athlete in 2012 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I am currently a CrossFit Level 1 Instructor and have obtained certification in Weight-Lifting. I have achieved goals that I never thought possible and now am passionate about helping others do the same. Whether your goal is to lose, to gain, or improve your strength, I want to help you reach it.

Since I can remember, I was always involved in competitive sports and being active. Growing up, I played baseball, football and wrestled and I continue to try and be involved in as many outdoor activities as I can. I am the kind of person who can’t sit still and loves to be physically and mentally challenged.
I found CrossFit in 2012 and never looked back. My first workout was brutal but I was intrigued by the varied movements and intense nature of the workouts. As I was laying on the floor gasping for air, all I can think about was how out of shape I was and how I wanted more. CrossFit became a huge challenge for me because I had zero cardio and never touched a barbell (besides bench). So I set my own goals and gave it shot. Since starting CrossFit, I have achieved many personal goals; fitness competitions, GoRuck challenges and heavy lifts.
Being a part of CrossFit Ossining is not only a place to go workout but it is my second family. I couldn’t imagine myself being anywhere else. I am amazed to see our members come in day after day and challenge themselves and reach new goals and chase new achievements.

Lizz Endrich

Lizz Endrich is an experienced Personal trainer, Reiki master, and New York State Licensed Massage Therapist as well as an accredited Personal trainer for over ten years. She has trained and taught individuals to be the best they can be both physically and mentally. She incorporates all her mastered skills into her training programs which allows for a well balanced, life changing transformation. She has been employed by many of the top massage and personal training spas throughout her career. Lizz has completed seven New York City marathons and awarded medals in several half marathons and triathlons.

She believes that the combination of personal training, life coaching and holistic health is one of the strongest combinations offered to any individual who visualizes their life moving forward.

She is known for her gentle and straightforward approach to training, healing and massage, and for bringing about positive change in many of her clients’ lives.
